Our Camping Trip…

It seems like we’ve been on the go for some time now, but we took a break and headed to the high Sierra’s for some camping. We just relaxed, fished a little {even A got a pole with a hook and learned to cast!}, hiked, and just enjoyed nature. I’ve compiled some photos from some of my favorite moments…

road trip to the mountains. truck and trailer loaded, tunes on, starbucks and my family!

a fishing stop on a short hike to the meadow.

my beautiful girl in the gorgeous meadow.

her first hike not in the backpack!

learning to cast with a real hook! didn’t catch anything, but she tried.

another hike to the meadow.

painting with daddy.

fooling around with some yoga in this gorgeous, inspirational place.

my favorite part 😉

It’s always nice to get away and recharge. Hope you lovelies had a great weekend and found some time to recharge before the week.
Happy Monday!

Mini Vacation…

After Amélia battled a 24 hour flu thing early last week and then myself in the middle of the week, I’m playing catch up with my posts.
Prior to being sick, the hubs surprised me with an overnight mini vacation to The Mission Inn in Riverside. This place is ah-mazing. One of its main features is Kelly’s spa… at least for me and the hubs! We spent the night Saturday night after sampling what’s going to be my new favorite tapas spot and then indulged in couples massages the next morning. I kept it dressy casual for dinner…

New York Winter Wonderland

Well, it’s been a whirlwind. Going from 70 degrees and even 80’s some days in California to frigid temps in New York City, you could often hear Amélia singing ‘Walking in a Winter Wonderland’ as we strolled the streets of New York! She and I took the city by storm, though. We weren’t letting a little freezing temperature scare us away. I’ve always said I was born for this weather… and honestly, I don’t care hot or cold, I LOVE New York so there’s nothing that will hold me back from making an amazing time.
she was dying to make snow angels, but I had to talk her out of it because she wasn’t quite dressed for it.
a beautiful night walk back to home base after dinner one evening.
this view! we have the most amazing views from our windows.
warm layers! got to have fun in heavy coats, gloves, and fur-lined boots that would be over-the-top for southern California right now, and of course layered up on the arm candy. with all the layers, accessories were the highlight of my outfits!
getting ready for our date to Cinderella.
yep, a princess on top of the world!
we had the entire park to ourselves one afternoon.
watching a skater on the rink, and we even met another friend the same age who let A push her doll stroller around a bit!
Three more fun-filled days await…
Wherever you are, enjoy the memories you’re making!

In the Woods

Hey there, lovelies! I’m back from vacation… actually, I’ve been back nearly a week from the high Sierras where we spent much-needed unplugged time with no internet, living out of a trailer, and spending most of our time in dirt hiking and being around fish guts.

Y’all know I believe, even in the dirt, that every day deserves a little fashion so though I didn’t get all gussied up, I did don a favorite headband of mine a few days, did a cute and stylish side pony another, and even wore lipstick to the resort’s diner! I did manage to get a few pics on the hubs cell phone, but unfortunately his cell phone traveled to San Diego Saturday morning with one of his friends by mistake, so I can’t even share those :(.

It’s kind of boring on the blog today since I don’t really have any personal fashion to share with you. My week’s been spent getting back to reality. Piles upon piles of laundry have consumed me, and I hate laundry. I’ve also been scrubbing the dirt from my feet (YUCK), getting regular cleaning duties done, catching up on my social media fix from being unplugged for so long, and giving myself a mani/pedi. Oh, did I mention scrubbing the dirt from my feet? What a girl won’t do for the man she loves!

Here’a cute pic of my girl in her long johns, and with her best friend, Blue; our dog…

It is Sunday, though, and Sunday shopping is in full swing over here. I mentioned I put one of my favorite headbands from one of my favorite online boutiques to good use during our vacation, so they’re my Sunday Shopping highlight…

In fact, I’m head over heels for these headbands that I’ve got a few more on my wish list. I’m even planning on gifting a few of these babies to girlfriend’s around the holidays.

Hope y’all had an amazing week. I’ll be back this week with some normal daily life fashion AND an upcoming giveaway from Jordan Taylor resortwear. Take a look at their collection; gorgeous pieces for these last days of summer and beautiful colors to make the transition into fall!

Red, Black and Polka Dots

If Skagway isn’t the epitome of charming! I couldn’t resist getting some fashion shots of my gorgeous girl in this gorgeous town. And she was more than willing to be my perfect muse.

I always love classic black paired with red, but hints of polka dots? Perfection.

I’d say this girl is a natural.

Red Sweaters

sweater: CAbi // jeans: Old Navy // top: J.Crew // bag: Miche // shoes: Nine West (old) similar

The weather while in port in Juneau and Skagway, Alaska was gorgeous. The temps were cool enough for sweaters and to get me excited for fall.

I was fortunate to fit in a quick photo shoot in the cute railway town of Skagway, and I was ecstatic that Amélia wanted to join me. A little fashionista in the making? I know I enjoy dressing her up and watching her pose, so we’ll see if it’s in her genes!

Come back Tuesday to see her strut her stuff in Trendy Tot Tuesday.

Thanks for stopping by!
