You’ll find shoes ranging from $30 to nearly $1,000 on this list… you know me, I’ll lust over shoes every day of the week whether they’re in my budget or not! A girl can dream, can’t she? 😉
I personally am always after a great steal, but whether or not you’re pockets run deep, I’ve put together some of my favorite lust-worthy styles for every budget… and because it’s the last day of the Nordstrom sale, I’ve included several styles from one of my favorite department stores. Since I just spent the weekend in Illinois, and am planning a snow trip in December, included are some must-have footwear for cooler weather.

Style note: Be bold. Choose prints, color-blocking, cutouts, and embellishments.

What shoe are you lusting after this fall?

NORDSTROM - Shop the Clearance Sale now through November 11!

Shades of Grey… + an e-styling offer you won’t want to miss!

my 3 year old snapped this… might i say she’s becoming quite the photographer.
that face!
amélia also snapped this one. i say give her the camera and let her go. she may become my photographer in a few years!
leith roll sleeve oversized muscle tee {similar, love this} // loft pullover {similar here & here} // leggings via nordstrom // bag {sold out; similar here & here, love this} // vans sneaks {old, want these}
It’s fall, y’all! At least until the end of the week when our temps reach back into the high 90s {ugh}. I’m scratching my head about that, but also soaking up every single minute of this cooler weather.
Over the weekend, the fam and I headed out to the pumpkin patch, and even snuck in a play date at the park without sweating our tushies off.
We passed on picking our pumpkins just yet so we can go back, but we had so much fun. Amélia road quads for the first time and even lapped some boys! Ok, maybe not quit like that, but she held her own and even shocked us with some pretty cool maneuvers.
The weather was overcast and crisp and just all around perfect, so what’s better than yoga pants when you want comfort? Leggings! I pulled out my comfy layers and went all shades of grey for our first real fall day in so Cal. I ditched the accessories for a pumpkin spice the hubs brought me; the perfect fall drink for playing in the park with my favorite little!
…………………………
Ok, for the exciting e-styling news! This month, I’m offering an entire e-styling package worth over $1,000 for just $29.95. Say what?! Tomorrow, I’ll post all the deets here, but if you want the info before then, head over to my Facebook page.

12 Hour Style

Every day for me is different, and I love that variety and flexibility. When it comes to style though, it has to be just as flexible; whether I’m styling on set, running a style session with a client, working at home, or doting on my toddler. I don’t usually have to get out the door until 9am, but my day doesn’t end until about 9pm either.
My style has to be functional and because I’m always representing my brand {me!; Fashionably, Melissa}, I feel like I need to be put together whenever I leave the house. But, like I said, functional often means running a toddler to dance or swim or play dates, maybe a lunch date, an afternoon styling sesh, possibly a dinner date, and even a dentist appointment… sometimes all in the same day!
When I choose my fashion, I always make sure it’s versatile. I know I’ve preached about finding pieces that you can imagine 2/3 different ways, and that’s so important to me! Pieces have to go from casual for my personal, mom style to dressy, fashion-forward work appropriate. This outfit is just that.

Fall Print

palazzo pants // boxy tee {similar} // floppy hat // sandals: nordstrom {similar}

We escaped to northern California last weekend and as much as I’m trying to will fall to appear, it seems it’s still no where in sight :(.
This outfit has to be one of my favorite easy going transitions into cooler weather. The fabric on the pant is light enough for summer and I love the print for fall. Of course, I’m loving big hats and wearing them every chance I get, so while preparing my wish list a few weeks ago, you bet I snagged this one up!
Here’s to a great start to your week. Happy Monday!

FALLing for Hats

cabi tunic/dress {a few seasons ago; similar, similar} //bootie c/o zooshoo {similar, similar} // floppy wool hat // lips by revlon in iced amethyst
I am so excited for fall, you guys! It’s something I long for this time of year as our temps skyrocket and I can’t stand one more day of heat.
This is probably one of my absolute favorite looks to date. I love big hats and I wear them in the summer, but as it gets hotter and hotter my head begins to protest! I just couldn’t wait though… Since it’s still pretty hot here I chose a lighter fabric dress, added a cutout bootie and this super cute wool hat for a great transition outfit. I can’t wait to wear more outfits like this. In fact, I have yet another floppy hat on my wish list in brown!
Hope you all have a fabulous, fashionable weekend. We are headed to nor Cal for a wedding and I’m crossing my fingers it’s a bit cooler.
Are you as ready for fall as I am? What’s your favorite transitional piece in your closet that you’re already pulling out?

Summer to Fall Mix Up

american eagle jacket {very old; similar splurge, save} // graphic pullover via Nordstrom {similar} // boyfriends // heels via target {similar} // watch // bangles // rings // belt // essie polish in bikini so teeny // lips in fusion pink
Hey guys, it’s a late post, and I know I haven’t posted much lately, but thank you for sticking with me. It’s been a bit busy ’round here. Thank you for all the kind emails about my grandmother. I took some much needed time to spend with my mom and my family, and am in the process of creating Amélia’s big girl room. We even missed a vacation we were supposed to take to northern California. As much as we were looking forward to it, I’m glad I spent the time with my mom. We ended up at the lake house in Havasu and I’ll post some fun photos from our time spent there later this week.
Today, I’m dreaming of fall! After hot, hot weather in Havasu, a 16 hour power outage, and some last ditch summer tanning efforts and soaking up the sun, I’m so ready for cooler weather. The one day we experienced some drop in temps, I pretended fall was on the horizon and mixed up some summer pieces with fall attire. I’m itching to break out the sweaters and live in all my jeans, like these boyfriends! And this jacket is one of my closet staples I’m excited to pair with more fall outfits.
Hope y’all have had a great week, happy Friday!
Saturday’s are for hair tutorials, so head on over to my youtube channel tomorrow for some hair inspo. And be sure to subscribe as not all videos will be posted to the blog.

Wedding Craze

A dear friend of ours is getting married!
With wedding season in full swing and obviously on my mind, I’ve been planning the perfect outfit. The man who married us is getting married to a wonderful woman, and asked my husband to complete the cycle by presiding over their nuptials.
I’m such a planner, so I thought I’d create a style board for inspiration with 2 of my favorite wedding color combos: blush and florals, and navy and orange!
Which is your favorite?

Sunglasses for Every Face Shape: Men & Women

Sunglasses are such a key accessory to my summer wardrobe especially, but any hint of sun and I’m reaching for a pair. Since we’re smack dab in the middle of summer, and I’m even thinking about fall, it seemed appropriate to do a mini style session about this much overlooked accessory that is such a perfect transition piece to any season. As with all clothing and accessories, choosing a great frame to compliment you is important.
Men and women can both utilize these tips to keep stylish, but also protected, and put their best face forward.
And, since this is the last week of Nordstrom’s sale, I’m including a style board of some of my favs!
