Plaids on stripes {you can never have too many striped shirts!}, a cozy cardi, braids and converse… these are a few of my favorite things!

I’m so, so happy the weather has finally turned. Though we live in a wind zone and some days it’s bitter cold with whipping winds, I’m so grateful for being able to layer up…

This look was perfect as a mom uniform and did double duty for dinner out.

Style note: When layering up prints for bold style, look for pieces that compliment but aren’t matchy-matchy. Rather, go for a look that creates depth and dimension. It’s OK to create an eclectic mishmash of patterns, and then harmoniously pull the look together using a basic neutral tone piece {like this grey cardi}.

Kickin’ Back

This past weekend was filled with spending time with my little family… just kickin’ back.

Friday, we welcomed Santa with a tree lighting and fireworks, and Saturday was all about some shopping! I love relaxed weekends where I don’t feel like we have a million things on our to-do list.

Style note: When going all black, leather is a great choice for topping off the look. It’s always a classic, luxe fabric perfect for any season. Since black can be a little blah, add an interest piece or play with prints, like I did here!
