Our Camping Trip…

It seems like we’ve been on the go for some time now, but we took a break and headed to the high Sierra’s for some camping. We just relaxed, fished a little {even A got a pole with a hook and learned to cast!}, hiked, and just enjoyed nature. I’ve compiled some photos from some of my favorite moments…

The Living Root Cellar – 3 Day Cleanse!

Ever since incorporating juice cleansing in my health routine in early summer, I am hooked! I could rave on about all the benefits, but if you’ve done it, you know… and if you haven’t, you just have to try it for yourself!
I started my juicing journey probably the hard way… well, the more time-consuming way, anyway, and quickly decided that I wanted to try pre-packed, pressed juice from a juicery… 
I determined a few things: 1) though the juicing process is time consuming, it was like a little ritual and focused my mindset for the day and 2) it’s so convenient to just grab juice from the fridge that has already been bottled for you for your entire juice cleanse! I think you just have to decide for yourself what is going to work well for you. I’m also planning on adding juice as a weekly thing {morning meal replacement; afternoon pick me up}. 
I don’t really believe in fad diets or quick fixes, rather I incorporate juicing into a healthy lifestyle. Of course everyone splurges on occasion, but I keep to a healthy diet 90% of the time and incorporate lots of exercise and activity. I did lose some weight as with the first round of juicing, but that isn’t really ever my goal. I’m actually a little lighter this time around because I managed to keep off the weight I lost last time. Just another side benefit! 
Overall, my goal in juice cleansing is to feel good, get great rest, and have energy, and I just love the way I feel in general and the challenge!
