Outfitted

When outfitting myself for any fashion styling job, I like to maintain a little style {seeing as styling is my job}, but I also need function {read: comfort}!
This skirt is the perfect blend of summer + stripes + comfort to keep me outfitted for a client shop. Since I love to shop, my ‘amor’ tee pairs perfectly. If you’re thinking you’ve seen these pieces before, you’re not having déj à vu. This skirt is one of my summer staples and this is hands down one of my favorite graphic tees {as if any graphic tee is not my fav!} Hope you lovelies are having a wonderful short week.
On a side note, I just overhauled a client closet, so I’ll be posting a bunch of ‘finds’ on my instagram shop. You can also shop the flash sale {beginning today at 10am!} for steals before I post a few of my own recent purchases {mostly worn for a day or a photo shoot} that I’ve decided must go.

Garden Party

I hope all you lovelies had a fantastic long weekend. Mine was pretty eventful, and Saturday, I was able to finally break out this gorgeous skirt from eShakti. Have heard of them? They are only kind of amazing!
I fell in love with this skirt the moment I saw it. Y’all know I’m notorious for grabbing up pieces that I can imagine wearing at least 3 ways, and I’m telling you, don’t be surprised if you see this one on repeat in the very near future!
Anyhow, their whole idea is clothing for ‘real women,’ so they offer customization based on a woman’s individual measurements. They have a rather great range of sizes from 0 to 36. Though, I didn’t actually do any customizing myself, if you find you prefer a ‘truer’ fit for a particular size, shape, or you require a more modest skirt length, or a shorter one, you can customize any piece for that perfect fit.
I received so many compliments while wearing this skirt. Ooh, I almost forgot to mention the best part… it has pockets! I lalalove skirts and dresses with pockets and I think all dresses/skirts should have ’em. I found that most of eShakti skirts and dresses had them! Plus, I know, there’s more? The material is light weight enough for comfort on warm days, yet the fabric is thick enough that it doesn’t require a slip. I am definitely not a slip and hose kind of girl, so this was fabulous.
Go see for yourself! I promise you’ll find a style you love for whatever the occasion.

Chillin’

Unbelievable. Last week it was 90º by 10am and this week? 30º cooler at the same time! Needless to say, I’m back in jeans and warmer shirts. I went for this bright MIH top {found at a sample sale in NYC} for a casual night out to dinner, and kept it laid back with my favorite snakeskin flats.
Hope y’all have begun a happy Memorial Day weekend. As much as I love fashion, I love those fighting {who’ve fought} for our great country even more. Enjoy your weekend and, PLEASE, thank a soldier!

Trendy Tot Tuesday: Silly in the Sun

This cutie patootie is back taking over the blog today.
She’s so funny with her little poses.
On this particular day, we were having a little fun in the sun and she was being a bit silly, but she’s always such a blast! I try to snap up pictures when I can because mostly she’s in princess dresses and ‘fancy’ shoes. But even in ‘regular’ clothes, my sunnies, and no shoes she’s a doll nonetheless!
