Classic Neutrals for Minimal Chic-ness

blazer {older; similar here} // tee // denim // similar heels // clutch via // sunnies // similar cuff

I seem to be gravitating to classic colors A LOT lately, and it was no surprise that when I needed to pull together an outfit for a recent graduation I went for a less is more look.

Sometimes dressing up can take on a bit of edginess with a sleek pair of dark denim, a blazer, and a tee. You’re still ‘classic’ in a sense, but in a relaxed, cool way, and I don’t feel like I’ve put on my grandmother’s pearls {which are definitely rad on occasion!} and donned a dress like every other girl attending a more formal affair ;P.

I did add a few pops of color to, well… pop off the neutral palette, but by only adding a small clutch in a solid color and earrings in another, the look maintained it’s minimal chic feel.

Congrats to all you grads! You’ve made it to the great big world.. knock ’em dead out there!

Style Note: For the perfect minimalist look choose crisp whites, go for a clean white and nude combo, or opt for classic black and white. Because it’s summer, I wanted to stand out with a bit of color to really make my neutral palette striking, but if opting to maintain the trueness of minimalism utilize the structure and cut of pieces as the focal point. Keep accessories understated and opt for similar shades for your bag and shoe choice.

Weekend Casual Vibes

After the holidays, some travel, and a little down time, it’s back to reality. But we had a great weekend exploring Seattle, and a Sunday afternoon back home with family.
I wanted to take a moment to thank all my followers and clients for all of your support. AND because it’s a new year, and I’m so grateful for all of you, I’m offering my styling services at new special rates!
It’s pretty common to conduct style appointments in person, but I’ve been working on a progressive approach through the wonders of Skype, email, and dropbox and am offering all my ‘in person’ services through e-styling appointments… which save you even more $$$!
My calendar is booking up quickly, so be sure to email me to get started.
Style Note: Florals and pastels aren’t just for spring! Add a little softness to the harsh winter days with lighter tones on basic neutrals, add a soft pink lip, and throw on a sneaker to keep your look casually cool.

Sweater Weather

The weather has been absolutely wonderful lately {except for a few days of gusty winds, but I’m not complaining ;)}, and I’m taking full advantage. I’m finding myself falling into my usual black and grey color palette, but sometimes simplicity is just what I need.
Style Note: There’s something inherently sexy about simple, and sometimes less is more. Don’t be afraid to stick with what you know and love, and let your confidence be your statement.

Fall Neutrals

Well, this might be as close to fall as we’re getting for now… High of 74 meant pulling out clothes for ‘cooler’ weather. And this just might be my favorite outfit thus far!
Spent the weekend hanging with my family and then a pumpkin carving party! I love weekends… especially fall weekends that mean cool, breezy days and halloween fun!
But back to this outfit… I had the pleasure of working with LeTote to style several items, and this is just the first of a few collabs.
Have you heard of LeTote? Ladies, you know I love shopping and styling others, but when it comes to shopping for myself, I just don’t always have a lot of time. LeTote is so great when you need some items to fill the gaps in your closet, or are looking for something special, and if you absolutely fall in love with something, as a member, you can purchase items at a discount. The most fantastic thing about LeTote? Unlimited totes! That means you select as many items as you like, receive 5 pieces at a time {3 clothing items, 2 accessories} within 2 days of putting in your selection, and then can return them when you’re finished and receive another tote {and as many totes you can fit into the month} for just $49/month!
Check them out here for complete membership details.

A huge thank you to all you lovelies who attended ‘Night with the Stylist’ at Shop by John Michael Villa. It was fun meeting new faces and sharing summer style.
When I finally found time to style myself for the event, I knew I needed the perfect look for hosting a summer style session.
What better color says summer than white?! And it happens to be my favorite crisp, go-to look this season.
Think LWD {little white dress} ladies! It’s definitely hot this summer AND classic. Though, I did separates, I kept the look streamlined, playing only with textures {lots of textures!} and added subtle jewelry to complete the style. I didn’t add any real pops of color or prints because I wanted to keep it simply stated… which, in my opinion, can sometimes make thee biggest statement.
What do y’all think? Would you swap an LBD for an LWD this summer?
