Braid on Braid – Fishtail Braids Tutorial

It has been pretty hot, and besides dressing myself in shorts and tees everyday, I’m finding braids have also become my best friend. I love changing up the typical braid, and by throwing in braids on braids, I can get my face framing layers pulled back easily. 
Today’s tutorial is fishtails. If you aren’t familiar with how to fishtail, it is a basic braid for all the more complicated braiding. If you don’t know how, let me know and I’ll create a quick video.

Game of Thrones-Inspired Workout Hair

I’m all for function when it comes to working out, but a fan of ponytails? Not particularly. I will wear them, don’t get me wrong, but I’m really particular. Generally they’re just too plain for me, but I definitely like to get my hair up and out of my face, so I decided to take a regular functional pony tail and add a twist. I’ve recently become hooked on Game of Thrones {spent the first 3 seasons catching up and finished the most recent season with the hubs.} It’s no secret I LOVE braids, so here’s my Game of Thrones-inspired workout hair…

Dutch Braid Pigtails Tutorial

I’m posting a tutorial of the braided style I’ll be wearing for the 4th… it’s sort of a sneak peek!
Married to a fifth generation fire worker in a family owned fireworks company, it’s sort of a thing to get festive and go all out. It’s going to be so weird, though, for me this year because the bug and I are home while my husband oversees a brand new show in Atlantic City. Usually, we spend our 4th in NYC collaborating with Macy’s for their annual fireworks. Nonetheless, even homebound I’ll be flying my colors!

These dutch braid pigtails are one of my favorite summer braids and I hope you’ll love ’em as much as I do…

I immediately fell in love with this paisley blouse when I laid eyes on it. It styled so well with a swept back faux hawk braid for a dressy casual Father’s day dinner with the hubs, the bug, his dad and brother. I love the accents of gold that really gave a pop, and of course the shoes! These shoes are amazing and comfortable, and part of my Mother’s day present.
