Printed Shorts for Unexpected Style

This is the last of the NYC summer trip outfit posts. I’m seriously behind on posting them, but since it’s still hot I wanted to share some of my go-to summer shorts styles.
I love everything about these shorts: the cool, flowy fabric, the gorgeous jewel tones, and the pattern. The great thing about the right type of shorts is their versatility… I wore them during the day paired with a flat sandal for a fun outing to American Girl, but they transitioned perfectly for an evening to dinner with a striking colored heel.
I received so many compliments on this outfit. I think the freshness of a perfect summer printed short is unexpected for evening wear that it gives you unique style.

seerSUCKER FOR SUMMER!

Hey lovelies! I’m back after a little family time away and I’m finally getting around to sharing some of my casual NYC looks. AND most everything seen here is currently on SALE!!! Lucky you!
Seersucker is such a great summer fabric, and it’s not just for children. In fact, I had no idea there’s an actual ‘seersucker day.’
I personally love this casual fabric and it’s easy going look for summer fun. The lightweight material and informal look of the pucker makes for perfect laid back summer style. It was a no-brainer for me for those hot days running around NYC with my toddler. So just call me a seerSUCKER FOR SUMMER! I polished the look off with a skinny leopard belt {because I’m also a sucker for stripes and leo!} and a flat sandal for all the walking.

I’m in awe everyday of this little girl. She has such a personality, is smart beyond her years, and so much fun! Not to mention she is a little fashionista… she actually chooses her outfits and tells me what she likes and what looks good!

While in NYC for a gear-up to the 4th, we had a lot of adventures. Mostly, we spent our time at all the amazing parks, but one entire morning and early afternoon we spent at American Girl Doll. I don’t know who had more fun… it was awesome to see her excitement, and what the little shopper this one is!

I guess she gets it from me, but I love dressing. I mean putting on great outfits even if we are going to the park. I definitely have my days when I throw on running pants and tanks, but mostly I love to feel pulled together. This was A’s choice for a park and ice cream date.

Tomorrow is the hubs birthday and Disneyland and we kicked off birthday week with a dinner last night, so here’s what I wore!
Also for those who follow my Instagram, you may know that last week I did a juice detox. After our return from NYC, I decided a little detox was in order. 

So… Wednesday morning I began detoxing! I know, it’s usually better or easier to kick start big changes on a Monday, but we got back from NYC that day and I had to restock my fridge Tuesday, so Wednesday it was!
By Friday, I was feeling like a million bucks! Excited for the weekend, and back on track with healthy eating I also decided I needed another change! Though I wasn’t aiming for going quite this dark, I’m now a very, very dark brunette… The color was supposed to be a dark brown which I’ve done myself forever, but I chose a different brand and well, let’s just say I’m embracing it for now.
