Rockstar Vibes

Style Note: Everyone has a ‘signature’ style. Even if you’re eclectic in your choices or dress by your moods, like I do, you do have an element of style that will be found in whatever choices of clothing you make… be true to it!

When it comes to dressing, I’m not a fit-in-one-box kind of girl… actually, I’m not sure I’m that in life either! 😉 Anyhow, I’d definitely classify my style as eclectic. Some days I feel a little classic chic, others it’s more laid back, and some days I’m feeling a grunge or rockstar vibe! But there’s always one element that’s true to my style no matter what pieces I put on. And that element is what keeps me feeling confident. And we all know confidence is your best accessory!
I seriously go back and forth and dress daily by my mood. This happened to be a day I was in LA needing to kick ass and felt my inner rockstar step up.
Whatever your style, be true to who you are. You can mix it up or keep to one particular look, but your signature style will always shine through. Mine? I’d have to say that I always incorporate something ‘classic’ either a sleek denim, a classic blazer or pump… there’s always a classic piece to my look.//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/#/?options=%7B%22columns%22%3A7%2C%22rows%22%3A1%2C%22showBrand%22%3Afalse%2C%22showRetailer%22%3Afalse%2C%22showInfo%22%3Afalse%2C%22showPrice%22%3Afalse%2C%22showSalePrice%22%3Afalse%2C%22size%22%3A100%2C%22pid%22%3A%22uid2529-25378273-21%22%2C%22productIds%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22type%22%3A%7B%22name%22%3A%22Type%20of%20Widget%22%2C%22list%22%3A45715807%2C%22model%22%3A%22userlist%22%7D%7D

Wow Factor – Bomber Love

jacket // tee // distressed ankle denim // heels {sold out, but LOVE these and similar here} // similar clutch // necklaces here and here
Some days call for a simple jeans and tee look, but I’m never one to be ordinary, so this bomber paired with a hint of snakeskin adds interest and makes the outfit perfect fall transitional style.
This is truly my every day casual style… with the exception of sky high heels! Those aren’t always conducive to running after a 4 year old or chasing down styles in a showroom or client shop, but I can’t resist their awesomeness for a dinner with the fam or girl’s night.

ps… hey my lovely IT gals, if you’re receiving Haven Street’s StyleIT Insider newsletter, you should’ve received an update about this fall’s StyleME challenge with EARLY ACCESS! This season’s StyleME session will open to everyone on the 15th, but if you’re an IT gal, you’ll get a bonus… so become an IT gal today!

Style Note: When putting together a casual look, you can still look chic. This look focuses on wardrobe basic essentials. When looking for basics, there’s two keys: fit and the ‘wow’ factor. Everything has to fit well to look good. Even if the awesome factor is hallelujah amazing, if it doesn’t fit well, it won’t look good. Period. The awesome factor is really a matter of personal choice. If it’s visually appealing to you, fits in with your style goals, and you feel just, well, awesome in it, then you’ve got your ‘wow’ factor. It should be a confidence booster and something true to your sense of style.

Bleached Denim Situation

Hey loves! Don’t you love how fashion recycles?
I’ve always had a secret love affair with bleached denim and the recent situation has me super excited! {I even wrote a fashion article you can read here about this trend making a comeback.}
These are just a few of my favorite picks…
I’d love to hear from you…

What do you think, yeah or nay on the bleached trend?

Style Note: combine this spring/summer’s trends by standing out in a bleached high-waisted flare jean and front tuck a flirty blouse for a modern 70s vibe. Add a lace up sandal to complete your laid back look.

Denim on Denim

Hello, loves. It’s been a few hectic, but amazing weeks and I can’t wait to share a bit of exciting news with y’all. But for now, this is one of my favorite denim on denim looks and a fantastic summer outfit {and literally a tank I’ve been livin’ in!}  It’s perfect for my busy schedule: a day filled with everything from meetings and styling to a weekend of fun with my fam.
I love the twist, with a bleached out denim jacket and white denim cutoffs as a play on the typical denim on denim style {which we usually see in blue washes just shades apart}.
Style Note: Add a feminine flare and interest with details: an asymmetrical cut or a cutout tank is fab this season. You can still be modest without revealing too much with strategic cutouts. This tank, with it’s tangerine color is also perfect for summer and will look great on blondes with lighter skin tones or darker complexioned gals.

Fluid Fashion

jacket c/o // similar tee // denim // slip-ons // earrings
I was recently asked where I get my fashion inspiration from. Honestly, I love fashion magazines as much as the next fashion-loving gal and trying out trends, but for me it’s always about wearing what I love.
No fashion mag is going to ask you: ‘How do you want to feel when stepping out?’ And truthfully? No ‘5 Must-Haves for …’ is going to answer that question.
If you’re following along with my STYLE ME sessions, you get a list of clothing that’s fluid. Which is one of my elements to teaching you how to dress uniquely and effortlessly.
Take this outfit, for example. The dark monochromatic look with a pop of burgundy {marsala if you’re loving the Pantone color of the year ;)} is utterly fall-ish, but totally works for spring with the cutoffs and bright lip.
Feeling stylish is about empowering yourself with the knowledge of what works and why it works, and pulling it off effortlessly.
Style Note: Keep your seasons fluid. Black is timeless and accessorizing with layers can take a look from fall to winter and even through spring or summer.

Hey lovelies! It’s been a busy week here and I’m thankful it’s Friday. This is a rare late post due to editing during nap… I spent the entire morning and early afternoon with my lil bug. I hope y’all had a great week.

I’ve mentioned and showcased several pieces from one of my favorite local vintage shops, and I’ve got to say that this piece is definitely one of my favorites.

I know I’ve been sportin’ a ton of blue hues lately, definitely on trend for this spring, but I’m just drawn to them! So… here’s another ensemble that meets Spring 2015’s blue and white trend. And I created it with a vintage piece that’s timeless.

Casually Outfitted

similar tee // denim // tennies // handbag via // rings // large ring
I can’t believe it’s Monday. Is it me or did this weekend fly by in a blink? Not to mention it’s March already and spring is on the horizon!

Speaking of that… the doors to the spring Style Me session are now open! Go here for more info and get registered before the doors close.

For today’s look, I’m keeping casually outfitted and spring ready by styling neutrals {yes, leopard is a neutral} with a pop of perfect blush pink.

Style Note: From blush to brights, when paired with a neutral palette, pink is such an attention grabber. You can be bold in even the softest shade of pink with such classic color palettes as blacks and camels.

What’s your go-to color for spring?

Spring Ready

tank c/o // denim {similar major save} // clutch // slip-ons // heels // sunnies

You guys! It’s been crazy hot in so. Cal and all I can think about is spring, so I’m gettin’ spring ready.

I posted this piece last week, and it seemed just the beginning of transitional pieces from drab winter to a bright season.
I love this top because it’s so classy. It’s perfect for dressing down {with a slip-on} or dressing up with a heel, and you can add a cropped jacket easily. If you’ve been paying attention, I’ve been featuring a ton of cobalt lately ;). For me, it’s such a pick-me-up mood changer and it looks fab with a hint of another bright spring color.
May I recommend a tank with a unique neckline to take you through day and into evening? I literally wore this piece to wash dishes, do some laundry, run a few business errands, and host a dinner party in the evening. It’s perfect for the on-the-go lady!
Style Note: I’ve got 2 for you today!
  1. You can dress down without feeling and lookin’ schleppy: the coolness of a sleeveless top transitions perfectly into warmer weather, and an interesting neckline is dressier than a plain cotton tank.
  2. Do- pair bright complimentary colors with one another for spring! Don’t overdo and wind up looking like an Easter egg ;).http://widget.shopstyle.com/widget?pid=uid2529-25378273-21&faveList=44543842&width=7&height=1&layouttype=0&border=0&footer=0

Boyfriend Blues

tee // denim wearing size 26 {sized up to give me a more relaxed fit} // slip-ons // watch // similar belt // similar clutch
I’ve been lovin’ me some shades of blue lately, from this bright cobalt to deep navy stripes paired with marsala, and I wouldn’t exactly call it the winter blues.
I hate to admit this, when my east coast friends are experiencing horribly, often daily life-upseting snowstorms, but it’s been in the high 70s {almost 80!} here…so I’m starting to think about transitional pieces once again.
I love this cobalt blue because it’s such a mood-enhancing color… I don’t know, I just always feel fabulous in it!
What’s your go-to color for a little pick-me-up?

Style Note: Leopard is a neutral in my opinion ;), so it goes great with so much. In this case, I added not one but two pieces of leo. The key is to keep from being so matchy-matchy + add interest by selecting slightly different patterns and shades.http://widget.shopstyle.com/widget?pid=uid2529-25378273-21&faveList=44529233&width=7&height=1&layouttype=0&border=0&footer=0

Black & Blue

blouse c/o // denim // loafers via justfab {similar} // jacket // satchel // rings // watch

Oh holy wind! The day I wore this was beautiful, and seemingly perfect… until I tried to get photographs. Go figure!
Anyhow, here’s my basic blacks again; it just makes such a perfect palette for pops of color and fun prints like the blues of my jacket and nails and the camo on my feet… in fact, I think my feet blend in with the pavement!
Style Note: Start with a monochromatic look {definitely one of my faves}. You can go all black, grey,  or even all red, lots of possibilities! Then, add some interest. Depending on your monochromatic choice, the options are endless. In this case, a pop of color is always a great way to stand out. Now, I could’ve gone any way with the shoes: plain black, another bright color pop, but the camo just speaks to me and the bit of green just goes well with the blue. Have fun in your style, and experiment!http://widget.shopstyle.com/widget?pid=uid2529-25378273-21&faveList=44513857&width=7&height=1&layouttype=0&border=0&footer=0
