With a 2 and 1/2 year old, Halloween can be tricky… No but really, she seemed excited months before and even changed her mind on costumes several times. Then, just like that, she started telling us things like ‘I’m not ready for Halloween’ and ‘I’m not really ready for trick-or-treating yet.’ What’s this world coming to when you can’t even bribe your kids with candy? *wink* Gah, she kills me!
Since Halloween is my favorite holiday, and the hubs loves it too this was really hard to hear. I just tried to roll with it and figured she’d come around. So at nap time yesterday I put on my costume and when she woke, she said ‘Your costume isn’t scary.’ Aha, hooked. We set to digging through my costume box and found a bee costume I wore a few years ago. Obviously too big for her, I modified and voila… She wound up trick-or-treating the scariest house on our block (not without a little trepidation) and then two or three more before declaring she was done with Halloween…
